Are you a researcher? Register for an ORCID

by Mary Keane on 2017-06-12T09:49:00+01:00

ORCID, short for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, gives researchers and authors a single unique ID which works across the research landscape. It helps improves the discoverability of your work, eliminate name ambiguity and stays with your throughout your career. It gives the correct attribution for your work across multiple systems such as publisher’s manuscript submission systems, data repositories and research information systems. It is free to register and is run by the not-for-profit ORCID organisation who are independent of any publishers, database providers, funders or institutions. Your ORCID will stay with your throughout your research career as it is not dependent on any one employing institution. It is increasingly being integrated into various research information systems and will greatly improve and ease the exchange of information across these systems.
