IReL and Open Access: Wiley

IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary is a nationally funded electronic research library. IReL also seeks to secure open access agreements with publishers.

Overview

The four year IReL-Wiley agreement (Jan 2021 to Dec 2024) allows eligible corresponding authors, in participating institutions (including UCC), to publish original research and review articles open access upon publication at no extra cost. The agreement also allows member institutions continued access to the complete collection over one thousand journals published by Wiley.

Instructions for Authors

For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and affiliated to 'University College Cork'. In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork'. You must use your UCC email address, and not addresses from other domains.

For Wiley hybrid journals: At the time the article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author must be a current member of UCC staff, or a registered UCC student.

For Wiley Gold (fully OA journals) journals: At the time the article is submitted for publication, the corresponding author must be a current member of UCC staff, or a registered UCC student. (Note, for 2023 this fund ran out in 17th October)
