In UCC IT Services provide data storage facilities for the storage and back-up of active research data using Microsoft Cloud individual and shared platforms and on premises storage if required. In addition to storing data, you also need to consider data security for computing devices and when transferring data to collaborators.
UCC IT Services will support hardware purchased through UCC from purchase to disposal. Devices purchased through ITS will be configured for UCC's network and will contain the latest versions of Microsoft Windows OS and Mac OS. Data security is of critical importance, UCC IT Services also helps researchers to protect there data by providing encryption services for laptops which may be used for sensitive or confidential information.
Secure Transfer of Large Datasets 
Filesender is a way to share large files with anyone. It works through your web browser to send a file to any email address. FileSender can send files up to 500 GB. Filesender is provided by HEAnet, Ireland's national education and research network, and approved by UCC IT Services.
