Laptop Loan: Home

72 Chromebook laptops are available for students to borrow in UCC Boole Library and 24 are available in Brookfield Library from the self-service locker system. 

Use your student card to borrow a laptop for 4 hours for use anywhere on campus.  

Laptop must be returned where it was borrowed.

Fines of €1 per hour are charged for late return.

For any queries or problems relating to the service, students should go to either the Library Services Desk on the ground floor of the Boole Library or the Brookfield Library Services Desk. 

To Borrow

Select Borrow on the screen.

• Scan your ID card
• Go to the indicated bay and scan your card again at the card reader in the middle of the bay to unlock the door
• Unplug and remove the laptop, close the cabinet door
• You can now use the laptop anywhere on campus for 4 hours.

To Return:

• Select Return on the screen
• Scan your ID Card
• Go to the indicated cabinet and open door
• Plug the power cable into the laptop. Cabinet LED will light up red when laptop is charging.
• Close the door.

Please Note: If you do not plug in the laptop (red LED) and close the door, the laptop will remain on your library account and you may incur fines of €1 per hour.
