Personal collection of Paul Senft.

About the Collection

The collection has 3,500 volumes and the subject matter reflects Senft’s interests in the entire range of the social sciences but particularly psychology, psychoanalysis, philosophy, and sociology.  The collection has 2260 items, predominantly published in the 20th century with a small number of 19th century books.

The collection prefix is Senft.

Biographical History

Dr Paul A Senft (1906-1975) was a psychotherapist and philosopher, Czech philosopher and psychotherapist and editor of The Human Context.

Provenance

A gift of 6000 volumes being the library of the late Paul A Senft Collection was donated by his widow in 1976. The collection was obtained through the office of Dr G Barden, Lecturer in Philosophy a member of the editorial board of The Human Context
