Agreement made between Francis Edwards, Jacob Sawbridge, Elias Turner, and Charles Ward on behalf of the Governor and Company for making Hollow-Sword Blades in England in the first part, and Francis Bernard, City of Dublin, in the second part. For the sum of £3,566. 5s. 0d. paid by Bernard to the Governor and Company, for a term of one year, they convey to Bernard the town and lands of Knocknacarra, Killdara, [Coghans], Coolmayne, Ballynagragh, Ballinvradigg, Coolbane, Garrylucas Upper, Ballincurrig, and Ardacrow, all in Cork county. Signed by all parties, and signed and sealed by Bernard.

Bernard conveys the towne {sic} and lands of [Coolenegurteeny] alias [Killnegurteeny], Barony of Muskry, Cork, to Massey, for a term of 31 years paying a yearly rent of £45 sterling. Indenture tripartite made between George Deyos, City of Dublin, and George Theobald Deyos (eldest son of Deyos) in the first part, Francis Bernard, City of Dublin in the second part, and Francis Woodley, City of Dublin in the third part. Bernard pays £800 to George Deyos and George Theobald Deyos, for lands of Bealgooly {sic}, Knockacawlea {sic}, Ballindinish {sic} in the barony of Kinallea {sic} County Cork, the remaining amount due to complete the sale of lands originally agreed by the parties in an agreement made 4th April 1718. Agreement made between Francis Bernard (eldest son and heir to the late Francis Bernard Esq., one of his Majesties Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in Ireland), Castlemahon, County Cork, and Richard Hedges, Macrompe {sic}, County Cork. It involves the lands of Tullaghbreedy {sic} East and West containing 296acres; Lackaduffe containing 196acres; Tobbernasoole Parke and Warren Parke including all houses and businesses, containing 108acres 1rood; Sleveen Two Gneeves, Sleveen One Gneeve and a halfe, and Sleveen half a Gneeve, containing together 141acres; [Carrigleigh[ Parke Clonfadda containing 158acres; Tirebeg containing 108acres; Coadrum containing 285acres; and also one halfe {sic} of the several houses, cabins and shops in Macrompe (it lists the various families and houses involved); and one halfe of the ffayers {sic} and markets of Macrompe, whatever profits from tolls, duties and profits; one halfe of the mills of Macrompe and the mill lands Magheron containing 19acres; and one halfe of the profits and advantages of the Manor Courts of Macrompe, Blarney and Kilcrea, all in the barony of Muskery. It is for the longest living natural lives of Richard Hedges, Richard Hedges (his Grandson) and Frances Hedges (his Granddaughter), for an annual rent of £213. 16s. to be paid half yearly on the 1st November and 1st March. Agreement of renewal of life made between Robert Gookin, Courtmacsherry, County Cork, and Daniel Sullivan, Bandonbridge, County of Cork. Sullivan pays the fee of £5 to Gookin to include Edward Carbery Jr., aged 11years, son of Edward Carbery, Bandonbridge, as a new life named in an agreement made originally between Gookin and Sullivan on 29th May 1712. It is for the lands of Knockagarrane, in the barony of Kinalmakey, County Cork, for three lives for the annual sum of £18, payable half-yearly on the feast day of St. Michael the archangell {sic} and Lady Day. Lease made between Francis Bernard, Castle Bernard, County Cork, and Thomas Harris, [Skeafin], County Cork, for the town and lands of [Ballycatten] now in the possession of Darby Lean and the Sweenys together, containing about 110acres, in the Barony of East Carbery, County Cork. It is for a term of 900 years beginning from the 25th March next, at a yearly rent of seven shillings per English acre of land held by Lean, and 5 shillings 6 pence per English acre of land held by the Sweenys for the first two years of the term, and thereafter seven shillings per English acre for all the lands for the remainder of the term, payable half-yearly on the 29th September and 25th March. Fee farm grant made between John Bernard, Bernard’s Hall, County Cork, and John Sealy, Bandon, County Cork. For the sum of £113. 16s paid to Bernard by Sealy, Bernard conveys Sealy the lands known as [Polden’s] and Martin’s Clancoole containing 258acres together with the bog of [Powlnaturrig], in the barony of Kinalmeaky, now in the possession of Sealy and his undertenants, forever. It is for an annual rent of £50 to be paid half-yearly on the 29th September and 25th March. Bernard and his heirs reserves the right of mining and hunting on these lands. Extra duties are also due on the lands. Signed and sealed by both parties. On the reverse of deed is information relating to the Sealys and the Court of the Irish Land Commission Land Purchase Act between 1913-1916.

For the sum of £400. 16s paid to Stamers by Bernard, Stamers conveys to Bernard the town and lands of Gurranbeg, containing one half plowland, barony of Kinalmeaky, forever. These lands were involved in an earlier fee farm grant made between John Buckworth, [Ballycomiskin], Co. Tipperary, and Jonas Stamers, made on 18th & 19th May 1755 and at the time in the tenure of Thomas Beamish. Signed and sealed by Stamers only.

Agreement made between John FitzGerald, Middleton {sic}, County Cork, and James Bernard, Castle Bernard, County Cork. For the sum of £1,200 paid by Bernard to FitzGerald, FitzGerald conveys to Bernard the town and lands of Ardprior and Miltereagh, Barony of Orrery and Kilmore, County Cork for a term of one thousand years. However, if FitzGerald repays the £1,200 to Bernard before the end of the first year of the term, the agreement is void. The interest is £6 per £100 to be paid half-yearly on the 24th August and 24th February until the amount is re-paid in full. It is also agreed between the parties that FitzGerald can continue to lease these lands during the term. Signed and sealed by FitzGerald only.
