1.   1959-1977

The volume contains minutes of meetings of the society, mainly considering film screenings and other administrative matters.  While most of these are routine, a meeting held in the Metropole Hotel on 5 February 1960 provides an interesting insight into episcopal attitudes to the society at this time, with the Bishop of Cork [Cornelius Lucey (1902-1982)] expressing his dissatisfaction at proposed screenings of Baby Doll (Elia Kazan, 1956) and I Married a Witch (René Clair, 1942).  Some of the enclosures include programme brochures, for example for the 1964-65 Season; and a questionnaire from the Irish Film Society relating to the 1967-68 Season.

Aldwych Commercial Notebook (9cm x 7cm), approx. 120 pp. & 24 enclosures
