IReL and Open Access: American Institute of Physics (AIP)

IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary is a nationally funded electronic research library. IReL also seeks to secure open access agreements with publishers.

Overview

IReL's agreement with AIP (2023 - 2025) provides read access to selected AIP hybrid journals, while enabling all eligible corresponding authors, affiliated with participating institutions (including UCC), to publish their scholarly articles open access in those journals. Articles will be shared under a CC-BY license and authors will retain copyright.

Instructions for Authors

  • For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and affiliated to 'University College Cork' at the time the article is accepted for publication. In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork'. You must use your UCC email address, and not addresses from other domains.
  • Please see AIP's Guide for Authors
  • There is an annual quota of APCs per year for the IReL consortium, allocated across the participating institutions on a first-come-first-served basis:
    • 2023 - 30 articles
    • 2024 - 30 articles
    • 2025 - 31 articles
