IReL and Open Access: The Microbiology Society

IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary is a nationally funded electronic research library. IReL also seeks to secure open access agreements with publishers.

Overview

Agreement period: 1 Jan 2024 – 31 Dec 2026

This Publish & Read agreement provides read access to Microbiology Society journals and also enables all eligible corresponding authors, affiliated with participating IReL institutions (including UCC), to publish open access articles in the following titles:

  • International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology  
  • Journal of General Virology    
  • Journal of Medical Microbiology         
  • Microbiology   
  • Microbial Genomics   
  • Access Microbiology

Instructions for Authors

For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and affiliated to 'University College Cork'. In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork'. You must use your UCC email address, and not addresses from other domains.
