IReL and Open Access: The Royal Society

IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary is a nationally funded electronic research library. IReL also seeks to secure open access agreements with publishers.

Overview

Agreement period: 1 Jan 2024 – 31 Dec 2026

The Royal Society Publish & Read agreement 2021-2023 provides read access to Royal Society journals, and corresponding authors, affiliated with participating IReL institutions (including UCC), can publish open access articles in these titles:

  • Biology Letters
  • Interface Focus
  • Journal of the Royal Society Interface
  • Notes and Records of the Royal Society
  • Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A
  • Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B
  • Proceedings of the Royal Society A
  • Proceedings of the Royal Society B
  • Open Biology
  • Royal Society Open Science

The IReL Read & Publish agreement applies to all articles published between 1st January and 31st December of the years the agreement is in place.

Instructions for Authors

For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and be affiliated to 'University College Cork'. In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork' and you must use your UCC email address, not addresses from other domains.
