IReL and Open Access: Sage

IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary is a nationally funded electronic research library. IReL also seeks to secure open access agreements with publishers.

Overview

The IReL-SAGE Read and Publish agreement 2021- 2023 allows corresponding authors (where they are a current staff member or student with participating member institutions at the time the article is accepted for publication) to publish articles open access:

The agreement also includes read access to the 2021 SAGE Premier Package (over 1,000 titles).

Instructions for Authors

For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and affiliated to 'University College Cork'.  During the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork'. You must use your UCC email address, and not addresses from other domains.

What journals are included?

The agreement covers corresponding authors publishing an article in 900+ subscription journals which offer hybrid open access publishing (SAGE Choice). See list of journals included.

There are a number of exceptions.

Check eligible journals on IReL's list of all journals included in IReL open access agreements.
