The four year IReL-Wiley agreement (Jan 2021 to Dec 2024) allows eligible corresponding authors, in participating institutions (including UCC), to publish original research and review articles open access upon publication at no extra cost. The agreement also allows member institutions continued access to the complete collection over one thousand journals published by Wiley.
OA quota per year: The OA publishing fund with this agreement is limited. As of June, the allocation for fully open access journals (gold) is projected to run out in August 2024. For Wiley hybrid journals, we expect the funding will last to December 2024. For more information see Wiley – IReL
For your article submission to be included under the agreement, you must be the corresponding author and affiliated to 'University College Cork'. In the article submission process you must correctly identify your institution as 'University College Cork'. You must use your UCC email address, and not addresses from other domains.
For Wiley hybrid journals: At the time the article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author must be a current member of UCC staff, or a registered UCC student.
A separate limited fund is available for articles accepted for publication in Wiley’s fully-OA (gold) journals. This fund will be available to authors submitting manuscripts from 1 Jan 2024. Funding is allocated to articles based on the submission date, As of early June 2024, we project that this limited fund will run out August 2024. After this date, authors will not be offered IReL-funded OA on submission.
