Irish Feminist Information was founded in 1978 by Roisin Conroy and Mary Doran. They published the first Irishwoman’s Calendar: An End and a Beginning and the annual Irish Women’s Diary and Guidebook. IFI ran two highly successful courses: Women in Community Publishing and it was within this context that Attic Press emerged. Attic Press published feminist, social and political texts for 20 years and became a driving force in feminist, social, political and historical publishing with a voice respected nationally and internationally.
