UCC Library is very happy to be part of Cork City of Culture 2022. We are holding three special events for the night.
Show & Tell – Life on Land: Trees & Birds from the 17th to 21st Centuries
6pm-7pm
This show & tell accompanies the online exhibition ‘Life on Land: Trees and Birds from the 17th-21st Centuries’. In this show & tell we’ll explore some of the items in the online exhibition as well as others selected from collections in UCC Library’s Special Collections. You’ll see maps, posters, prints and books of trees and birds as drawn and described by mapmakers, artists, botanists, philosophers, ornithologists, writers, photographers.
Make your own Zine workshop
4pm-7pm
Share your thoughts, feelings, creativity, experience, and/or knowledge with others! A zine is a small- circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images. Zines are often part of a DIY (do it yourself) culture which often includes people from marginalized communities or those who don’t have access to more mainstream publishing options.
Boa Morte Live at UCC Library
7pm-8pm
UCC Library are very excited to host a special one off performance by ‘alternative folk rock band’ Boa Morte.
They will be playing in entirety their forthcoming album, The Total Space, and now is your chance to get a sneak preview of the album in its entirety, months before release.
Booking opens Friday, 9th September.
We hope to see you for one, or more of the events.
