UCC Library is delighted to be hosting the The ‘Catching Stories’ exhibition which showcases personal stories and memories of infectious disease in Ireland.
The exhibition launches on Thursday 16 February, 5.30pm, Boole Library and we are delighted to invite you all to the launch.
This folklore-STEM collaboration project, which is funded by the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Discover programme, has collected memories and experiences of a range of diseases such as polio, tuberculosis and measles from 20th and 21st century Ireland.
It brings them together with biomedical commentary in an online resource, www.catchingstories.org to explore how the experience of these diseases and related public health measures have affected Irish society.
The exhibition runs in Boole Library until the 25 June 2023.
