IE BL/BC/M is the Massey Receipt Book held in UCC Library, acquired by UCC School of History and UCC Library in 2017.
 
Biographical History:
Massey's descendent Louis C. Massey in 1886 has inscribed on the front paste-down as follows: 
"Samuel Massey to whom this book belonged was the son of Daniel and Sarah Massey of Bandon, Ireland, and was probably born about 1660. In 1696 he married Sarah Wight the daughter of Thomas Wight of Cork, the Historian of the Quakers in Ireland. He resided in Cork until October 1710 when he sailed for Philadelphia with his wife and five children. During the passage they were captured by a French cruiser and were landed at Antigua whence they made their Philadelphia by the Spring of 1711. Samuel Massey died in August of September 1720. His wife died Imo 23, 1743-4"
