It may be possible to renew material sourced from other libraries, unless required by another reader there. Generally there is no charge for this - please contact Inter Library Loans via email at least 2 days prior to the due date if you wish to seek an extension to the loan period.
Renewals and Overdues
Material sourced from the British Library is subject to an automatic renewal charge of €4.00 once the initial loan period has expired. Where an item is significantly late, they impose a replacement and administration fee, currently £141.60 (UK).
Once the request has been submitted and paid for where applicable, the normal time for delivery is as follows:
Journal articles: generally 2-3 days. Normally, a link will be emailed to you with a password. Please note that these links will expire after 30 days. In some cases, it may be necessary to source the article in print, in which case you will receive an email to collect the article from the Click and Collect area inside the front door of the Boole Library.
Books and other loaned items: normally around 10 working days, but significantly longer at present. Book requests are currently extremely limited, with many libraries remaining closed, and increased turnaround times in those that have re-opened.
