Laptop Loan

 

72 Chromebook laptops are available for students to borrow within the UCC Boole Library and 24 are available for use within Brookfield Library. 

Students can use the automated locker system and their student cards to borrow a laptop for 4 hours within the Library.  

For any queries or problems relating to the service students should go to either the Library Services Desk on the ground floor of the Boole Library or the Brookfield Library Services Desk. 

 

To Borrow

Select Borrow or Borrow Reserved for registered DSS students

  • Scan your ID card
  • Go to the indicated Bay and scan your card again to unlock the door
  • Unplug and remove the laptop, close the cabinet door. 
  • You can now use the laptop within the Library for 4 hours

 

5 Simple Steps to Borrow a Device

To Return:

  • Select Return on the screen
  • Scan your ID Card
  • Go to the indicated cabinet and open door
  • Plug the power cable into the laptop. Cabinet LED will light up red when laptop is charging.
  • Close the door
Please Note: If you do not plug in the laptop (red LED) and close the door, the laptop will remain on your library account and you may incur fines at €1 per hour overdue.
