This is an important collection of political pamphlets and publications. The collection consists of mostly limited issue republican material relating to the Troubles in the North, many of which are extremely rare. There is a collection of pamphlets and political publications relating to recent events in the North of Ireland. Collection: 281 books from the 20th-21st centuries.

Ms McCarthy’s books and reading material were carefully kept in storage by her family who officially handed over the collection to UCC in June 2012.
The original owner of the collection was Ms Maisie McCarthy whose father was an activist during the war of independence. Ms McCarthy was a voracious reader of political material throughout her life. She passed away in 1992.
