Access & Use

Items from the collection must be requested in advance via the online request form.

Items from the collection can be used in the Reference Reading Room in Special Collections & Archives.

Copying

Items in the Bax collection may be within copyright, depending on who the author is.

Irish Copyright Law allows users to copy material under 'fair dealing.' There are certain restrictions:

  • only a reasonable portion can be copied
  • material must be for private study
  • sufficient acknowledgement must be given

If copying of Bax's published works are required, including his works written as Dermot O'Byrne, for publication then permission to use the material must be sought from Bax & Rye.

If copying of non-Bax written material are required for publication then permission to use the material must be sought from the respective publisher, if the author is within copyright terms.
