Leaving Certificate Scheme

2023 UCC Library Leaving Certificate Scheme is now closed.

In May 2024 after Semester 2 exams end, 6th year Leaving Certificate students can apply to use UCC Library to study until the end of the Leaving Certificate exams.  The application form will not be available until then.

By applying to use UCC Library you agree to follow the library rules and regulations.
These include the following:

  • You are required to behave in a manner to ensure respect for staff, students and other external readers both in the library and on campus.
  • You must be 18 or over to access this scheme. Proof of age is required.
  • Do not give your library access card to anyone else to use. Any misuse of the access card can result in withdrawal of access. If this happens there will be no refund of the fee.
  • You must always bring your library access card with you to enter and exit the library. No access without the card.
  • The library is zoned according to different study requirements. Study areas (red zone) are silent areas to facilitate individual study.
  • Quiet talking is allowed in other areas.
  • Noise levels on headphones must be kept low to avoid disturbing other students.
  • Wi-Fi and PC access is only available to staff and students of UCC.
  • You can bring in hot drinks in travel mugs (no disposable cups) or cold drinks in sealed bottles.
  • No food in the library.
  • Phones must be on silent.
  • We are a sustainable library and the study areas do not have bins. Bring any rubbish to the ground floor, separate it and dispose of it in the recycling bins.
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere in the Library building.
