Staff at other Universities in the Republic of Ireland can apply for access to UCC Library through the ALCID or SCONUL Access Schemes.
Staff and Postgraduate students from UK universities can apply for access through the SCONUL Access Scheme.
Please note that applications for ALCID and SCONUL cards are made through your home library.
Once approved for ALCID or SCONUL Access by your home Library you must apply for membership of UCC Library.
Please contact the Boole Library Services Desk in advance of your first visit to be made aware of any local arrangements or restrictions.
UCC Library cannot accept direct applications from taught-course students at other Irish academic and educational institutions. Undergraduate and Diploma Students at other universities who wish to use UCC Library should apply to their own university library for a Letter of Introduction.
This letter can then be presented at the Library Services Desk during Staffed Opening Hours. (Mon-Fri 10:00-13:00 & 14:00-16:45)
A Letter of Introduction can only be used on one occasion.
Postgraduate Students (Doctoral and Masters - taught and research) at other Universities in the Republic of Ireland can apply for access to UCC Library through the ALCID or SCONUL Access Schemes.

Applications for the Leaving Certificate study programme will be accepted in early May for 1 month consultation access, once UCC exams are over.
