Academic Refugees

Library Access for Academic Users Fleeing Conflict 

UCC Library is committed to providing safe, inclusive library services aligned with the University’s commitment to public engagement. As part of this, UCC Library will offer External Reader Access for researchers, academic staff and university students fleeing conflict. Membership requests from others fleeing conflict should be directed to the public library service.

Library Access for Academic Users Fleeing Conflict includes:

  • Access to study spaces in the Library
  • Borrowing rights- External Reader Cards with borrower access are entitled to borrow 16 items.

Please note there is no access to: 

  • UCC Library electronic resources 

  • Computer or printing/photocopying/scanning facilities 

  • Bookable spaces such as Group Study Rooms, Study Pods, Digital Scholarship Studio, Library Studio, Podcast Room, etc. 

External readers should note that they accept Library Regulations by becoming members and are subject to the same rules as UCC students and staff.

UCC Library External Reader cards are non transferable and can only be used by the person to whom the card is issued.
