UCC Library is committed to reopening both Boole and Brookfield libraries as soon as it is safe to do so: the safety of library users and staff is the chief guiding principle. Read more about our plans and schedule for re-opening our Libraries .
Support for research data is not just available from the Research Data Service. Directly and indirectly a range of other services and committees within UCC feed into the management and treatment of research data, this includes Research Support Services, Ethics Committees, OCLA, IT Services and CRF-C. But it is not enough. The knowledge base and skill sets surrounding Open Science, Open Data and Reproducible Research in UCC is still developing. Infrastructures to support this movement are in there infancy.
So, we need advocates. We need friends and allies. We need to build a network of dedicated researchers from all disciplines talking, arguing and pushing for Open Research and the supports to ensure it thrives and is embedded in research culture here in UCC. We would like to develop a network of like minded people working and researching in UCC to help support, develop and advocate for best practice in data management, reproducible research, Open Data and Open Science.
If you are or know of a group working on or advocating for Open Science, Open Data or Reproducible Research please get in touch. We would like to meet you. Maybe we can help each other, by connecting you with a wider network of colleagues or collaborating on outreach and informational events. Contact the Research Data Coordinator, Dr Aoife Coffey, email: firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved.
