Glór na Ly

Ba é Shán Ó Cuív, né John Michael O'Keeffe (1875-1940), eagarthóir an nuachtáin. I Magh Chromtha a rugadh é, agus chaith se tamaill mar iriseoir leis an Cork Herald, agus an Freeman's Journal.  D'fhoilsigh sé Glór na Ly mar shampla den 'litriú shimplí' a mhol Risteárd Ó Dálaigh, Osborn Ó hAimhirgín agus Ó Cuív féin ó 1907 amach.  Tháinig an chéad uimhir amach i 'Mihav' (Meitheamh) 1911 agus mhair an nuachtáin go Nollaig 1912.

Shán Ó Cuív, born John Michael O'Keeffe (1875-1940), was the editor of this newspaper.  He was born in Macroom, and spent time as a reporter on the Cork Herald and the Freeman's Journal.  Glór na Ly was published as an example of the simplified spelling for Irish advocated by Risteárd Ó Dálaigh, Osborn Bergin and Ó Cuív himself from 1907 onwards.  The first issue appeared in June 1911 and the paper lasted until December 1912.
