About The Cork Advertiser

The Cork Advertiser and Commercial Register was first published in 1799 and lasted until 1824.  The paper was published thrice-weekly, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, initially by E.H. Morgan, then by John Bettson, from an office on Patrick's Street.

Holdings

Special Collections holds three issues of The Cork Advertiser, all from 1802:

No 471 (Saturday 30 January), No 519 (Saturday 22 May) and No 521 (Thursday 27 May).

Other holdings

The largest collection of the paper is held by the National Library of Ireland (1799-1823, though with many gaps).  Additionally, Cork City Libraries hold a bound volume for 1807, and some loose issues are held by both the Royal Irish Academy and the British Library.
